Here are some of the services I offer...
Weight Loss/Fat Loss
My aim is not just to get you in shape, but also to keep you there. Some people may be able to lose weight by adopting extreme or unusual diets, but let's face it, living on grapefruit for the rest of your life is not really an option! Using the right combination of diet and exercise will help you to lose weight —and take inches off your stomach. With my help, you can make small but sustainable changes to your diet, and find an exercise regime that’s enjoyable as well as effective. Once you do that, I can assure you that weight loss will follow. Whether it's getting in shape for a wedding, or just so you can look and feel good about yourself, I can help you!
Running can be great fun, and is also a great stress-buster. But many people who try running or jogging don't stick with it because they find it too exhausting or painful. With 30 years of running training behind me, I can prescribe the appropriate training regime for your level of fitness, so that running becomes easy and enjoyable. I can also analyse the way you run, and transform your running action into something that will help you to run faster and more efficiently.
Back Pain/Rehabilitation from injury
Do you suffer from back pain? I'm qualified at Level 4 (the highest possible qualification for a personal trainer) in the management of lower back pain. I can't promise to remove the pain (nobody can do that truthfully), but I can help you to minimise it, and help you to lead a full and active life. I can also help you if you’re recovering from illness or injury, and need a safe and sensible way back to full fitness.
Training in groups
Training with partners or friends is a great way to get fit or get in shape - you've got someone else to encourage you, or even to compete with you to see who can get the fittest or the slimmest! And it's fun. I offer reduced rates for people in group training sessions (see the Prices page).
Ok, so the London Marathon (or the Brighton one) isn't until next year. But the earlier you start preparing for it, the better you'll be. I can help you carry out the most effective training, help you prepare mentally for the challenge of 26.2 miles, and also give you advice about how to avoid injury and ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible on the day, no matter what happens.
Get fit for skiing
I can help you get fit specifically for skiing - which will make your holiday more enjoyable, and more likely to be injury-free. I've advised Zenith Holidays (www.zenithholidays.co.uk) on how to get their clients fit for skiing.
Personal training for mums with kids
Want to get fit and in shape, but worried that your little ones might disrupt the training sessions? Not to worry - as the father of twins, I'm well used to coping with little distractions (and I'm CRB checked too).
Anything else you want to get fit for?
If you want to get fit for climbing Kilimanjaro, or just so you can keep up with the kids, contact me and we can find the best way for you to achieve your goals.
